Founding Engineer
2022–2025
- Software to help US seniors get better health care plans.
- Built several iterations of a "plan recommendation algorithm" that helped 15K+ US seniors find the best Medicare plan from year-to-year (92+ NPS and 87% retention).
- Launched a HIPAA-compliant voice AI MedicareVox that spoke with 140K+ US seniors.
- Built an online auto-ordering system for Over-The-Counter (OTC) products for eligible plan members which ordered $50K of OTC products.
2020–2022
- Helped Heylo define their organic growth strategy and built the first version of their group membership tiers.
- Led a brand redesign for National Legacy and built an automated inbound lead workflow.
- Conducted product research that informed Synmax's maritime monitoring solution.
2012–2020
- Prototyped rendering web content inside the Apple Maps placecard — first use case was COVID-19 vaccination locations.
- Learned a ton about web frameworks and was on the team that launched MapKit JS and the Maps Web Placecard (which became Apple Maps on the web).
- Automated the page that announces new collection dates for the Apple Maps vehicles driving around the globe via the Apple Image Collection page.
- Designed the pipeline that delivers map assets (icons, highway shields) to every iOS and macOS device. Was likely responsible for many MBs of data downloaded over your network (here's a good overview of the icons we were managing).
- Designed the map styling for Transit Mode, new map styles, Spotlight, Maps in China, and several iterations of the Navigation UI across iOS 8–11.
- I was the lead researcher for the Caipirinha icon which is still used today across beaches in Brazil. This research effort continues today.
